How I work:
Confidentiality; this is your space. The sessions are confidential.
Only exception would be me believing that you were at risk of harming yourself, or someone else. We would look at options together. Please note, sessions, face-to-face or via video call or phone call must not be recorded. Please understand this is a requirement for our therapeutic contract.
- Ethics and Code of Conduct: As a member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and a member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I abide by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
- Initial Consultation: A initial consultation is reserved for you after a payment has been made. Please know I do not hold spaces. There is a 2 day cancellation policy. Payments can be refunded up to 48 hours of your initial appointment. This session is designed to look at your goals and needs and to decide if we can do this work together. This session will also form the basis of your treatment plan.
- Payment: You may pay in cash or by bank transfer before the session.
I review my fees annually providing two month’s notice of any increases in price. - Cancelled or missed sessions: I operate a standard therapeutic contract. I, as your therapist am reserving this space for you at the agreed day and time each week until your therapy ends. To make this possible and to maintain the consistency of your appointments, payment is due for all sessions, including any you cannot attend. In the event of me having to cancel a session, for example annual leave, there will be no charge.
- Boundaries: I understand there may be times when contact between us is necessary outside of our booked session time. I do check my emails and phone messages regularly on week days 10am to 6pm - not on week ends or bank holidays. Please know I am not always able to respond straight away. I am not offering a crisis service. In an emergency please always contact emergency services.
I will not make contact with you outside of our sessions unless I need to change a scheduled session.
Our relationship will remain a professional therapeutic relationship.
The boundaries of our relationship will be discussed during our first meeting and should be maintained by both parties.
Working with international clients: Work can take place remotely within the UK and most countries. I am based in England, our agreement is under UK jurisdiction, based in England, UK, governed by English law.
For Supervisees : Please note in Clinical Supervision I expect supervisees to have a valid indeminity insurance policy in place. Sessions, face-to-face or via video call or phone call must not be recorded. Please know this is a requirement for our supervision contract.
