Couples Therapy : face to face & online

When we create an accepting, non-judgemental space to talk, people can tap into resources, new ideas and healing.

I work with couples via zoom or face-to-face in central London.

What benefits can be expected?

  • A safe space to start a process of peaceful communication
  • Acquiring listening tools and skills to connect
  • Looking at wider systems around you as a couple
  • A sacred space; what it means, how to create it, how to protect and nourish it.
  • A collaborative approach to promote healing and happiness

Couples Therapy. systems

  • My Approach as a Couples Therapist is systemic; we will look at the context - we will work mindful of your family culture(s) looking at values and believes from a place of acceptance and focus on what works well and aim to elaborate on that.

  • Why Couples Therapy?

Sometimes you may find it challenging to talk to each other about deeper issues or you may feel stuck with something. Couples therapy creates a safe space to talk more freely and to listen with empathy.

  • You may seek clarity in some areas
  • or work through complex emotions as a couple with the help of a therapist
  • rebuild trust with each other in a therapeutic space
  • or challenge negative thinking pattern
  • learn new techniques to cope with conflict
  • focus on personal growth

    Couples Therapy can help with
  • Alleviation of distress, recovery, healing
  • A better sense of where you are and what you are dealing with in your relationship
  • Help with your relationship
  • A collaborative approach to promote positive change, if change is wanted

Different forms of couples therapy. Which one is right for you?

  • There is not only one form of therapeutic response for any presenting issue in your relationship. I am trained in several therapy approaches. Depending on your wishes and needs I can offer psychodynamic therapy to look at experiences from your childhoods that feel painful or stuck which can have an effect on your relationship now.

If you want to stay in the here and now, person-centred counselling places an emphasis on gaining awareness of the present context, how to work with triggers, and wether the story we tell ourself serves us and the relationship.

Integrating systemic therapy can be very useful in couples therapy also looking at family constellations and interactions between family members and how your position in different settings feels for you as an individual and as a couple.

  • Am I the right therapist for you

The initial meeting is an opportunity to share your wishes and your goals. What do you want to get out of couples therapy?
You choose if you want to see me on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period. We can talk about your wishes as a couple in the initial meeting and look at the best option for you together. You may want to review after experiencing some sessions. We can work solution-focused using specific techniques for issues that feel stuck. Or you may want an open-ended, safe and accepting space for confidential reflection and personal development within your relationship.

  • I am experienced in supporting couples in relationship issues, intimacy issues, sexual issues, boundaries, space and closeness, life stages and expectations, diversity, family cultures of communication and relating.
